Shan Noodle






































There are different types of Shan Noodle in Shan State (Myanmar).
This is one type from Taung Gyi.
This Shan Noodle is a slightly different from Kyaing Tone.

chicken ½ kg
tomatoes 10
garlic 5 cloves
onion 2
cooking oil 3 spoons
turmeric powder
chili powder
salt sugar
bean power (kacang powder) 5 spoons
pickled mustard 1 packet
cabbage a little
corriendar a little
Kwie Tiow

Chop chicken to get very little pieces.
Chop tomatoes to get very little pieces.
Crush onion and garlic.
Put the chicken in a big pot, and mix together with tomatoes, garlic, onion, a little bit of turmeric powder, a little bit of chili powder, cooking oil and salt and a little bit of sugar. Add a little bit of water and cook.
When water has lost, add more water to get soup.
Mix bean powder (kacang powder) with water, and add into the pot.
Cool until the soup boils.

Slice cabbage, corriendar and pickeled mustard.

Place Kiew Teow (white noodle) in a bowl and add soup.
Serve together with cabbage, corriendar and pickled mustard.
