white waterlily

Today, white waterlily begins to be in blossom.
I am very happy to see it.

I have got one more friend because of this "little green villa".
I am happy she enjoys my flowers and cooking. :)
I feel good knowing there is a person who is seeing my little green villa.
Let me say "thank you" to her.

And this white waterlily is my gift to her.
"White" means purity and innocence in our Myanmar thinking.

Myanmar Name : Ye` Yo
Botanical Name : Morinda angustifolia
Common Name : Noni, Indian Mulberry
Native to Borneo, New Guinea, Northern Australia.
Leaves and fruits are edible.

Morinda citrifolia fruits contain of the number of enzymes (proteins) and alkaloids which are considered to be a boon for the health.t is being used for various treatment like joint pains, immune problems, pain relief, cellular regeneration etc. (http://herbsland.blogspot.com/2008/12/morinda-citrifolia.html)

I love to cook the morinda leaves with fish. It is tasty.

I wanted this waterlily in my garden very much.
And so mommy bought it for me, I didn't take good care of it.
Mommy takes good care of it ,and when it is in blossoms, I take photograph.

Myanmar Name : Dant Tha Lon
Native to India.

Leaf and fruit is edible.
The fruits are delicious when cooked as soup.
Leaves can either be fried or cooked.

Today is Full Moon Day of PyarTho.

I love my mommy very much. She loves me more than I love her, I know.

I always thank my mommy to give me this kind of heart.

I love flowers because of mommy.
I love the nature because of mommy.
I love artworks because of mommy.
I love to take responsibility because of mommy.
I love to cook because of mommy.
I love to eat because of mommy. (yeah..she is the best cook in the world.)

Friday battle

I am not feeling well today.
no appetite.
But I went to Uni to attend a meeting with Dean of our School of Engineering.
When the meeting was over, I got back to my work place
and while I was working on PC, there were 3 mosquitoes flying around and bite me.
I was scared and cried out.
On the way to campus service office to complain about the mosquitoes, I saw the cleaner, so
I told her mosquitoes are around.
She told me to wait and then she came with insect killer spray in her hand.
And then she took action.
I stayed outside because of the smell.
huu...
Cleaner laughed at me for my childish manners like I am scared of mosquitoes.
Ya. true. I am scared of it.
here, mosquitoes are much more bigger than the mosquitoes of my native country.
Malaysian mosquitoes are bigger. :P
When they bite me, my skin feels allergies and last time I went to Miri Hospital.

Its bright petals attract me to take the picture.

No mood to write, to study, to cook today. Nothing special in my mind.
I skip my studies at University. I didn't go to Uni today.
I think what I feel is because of the weather.
Raining all day long.
I am a lazy bone.

water lily diving

Heavy rain and thunder storm last night.
This morning, I seen my water lily like this.
:P

Myanmar people say "higher the water level, higher the water lily (more graceful the water lily).

But I wanna say
"higher the water level, deeper water lily diving in the water."
:P

I took these pictures when accompanied my mom to buy some potting mix.

This plant is Pitcher plant which is carnivorous.

Last time, I wanted to grow water lily in my garden, and so

Mommy bought it for me.

But I didn't take good care of it.

Moreover, my puppies Aggie and Angel love to bite it and play.

So water lily has died. But Mommy took good care of it and she bought some tonic for it.

And then water lily is still alive.

Today, it is beautiful in morning sunshine.

Shan Noodle

There are different types of Shan Noodle in Shan State (Myanmar).

This is one type from Taung Gyi.

This Shan Noodle is a slightly different from Kyaing Tone.

chicken ½ kg
tomatoes 10
garlic 5 cloves
onion 2
cooking oil 3 spoons
turmeric powder
chili powder
salt sugar
bean power (kacang powder) 5 spoons
pickled mustard 1 packet
cabbage a little
corriendar a little
Kwie Tiow

Chop chicken to get very little pieces.
Chop tomatoes to get very little pieces.
Crush onion and garlic.
Put the chicken in a big pot, and mix together with tomatoes, garlic, onion, a little bit of turmeric powder, a little bit of chili powder, cooking oil and salt and a little bit of sugar. Add a little bit of water and cook.
When water has lost, add more water to get soup.
Mix bean powder (kacang powder) with water, and add into the pot.
Cool until the soup boils.

Slice cabbage, corriendar and pickeled mustard.

Place Kiew Teow (white noodle) in a bowl and add soup.
Serve together with cabbage, corriendar and pickled mustard.
