Hilsa fish curry

1. one Hilsa fish
2. two big onion
3. two tomatoes
4. 4 cloves of garlic and a little ginger
5. three spoons of cooking oil
6. venegar
7. chili powder
8. tumeric powder
9. salt
10. fish gravy
11. sugar

Cut Hilsa fish into 3 pieces and wash with water.
Put the fish in slow cooker and cook together with a little salt, tumeric powder and 2 spoons of venegar for about 10 hours.

Slice tomatoes and onion.

Crush the garlic and ginger. Boil the cooking oil in the pan, and then cook garlic and ginger together with tumeric powder and chili powder for one minute.

Add tomatoe and onion, after that , add the hilsa fish and cook together with small amount of sugar and fish gravy until the oil comes up the surface.

Ready to serve.
This is my favourite curry. You can eat the fish's bones. The fish was cooked in slow cooker for 10 hours and the bones are already softened because of the venegar.
This is the first time I cook this curry in my life .

Mommy used to cook this fish.

Last week , I told my mommy that I wanted to eat this curry.
But I didn't know how to cook this fish.

Mommy told me that if she cooked for me , how I could know the cooking tips.

And so I asked her the receipes and I went to Boulevard hypermarket and bought the fish two days ago.
Yesterday I cooked it in slow cooker and I kept it in refridgerator last night.
I cooked it this morning. When it was ready to serve, I was the first person who sat at the dining table.
:)
Because this is my favourite curry since childhood.

snow

These days, the weather here looks like the weather in my native land.
This place has only one season, raining and sunny all year long.
But these days, weather in the morning is a bit same as my country .
I saw snow on the grass. I really miss my country.
When I see this kind of weather, I miss my childhood days.
When I came to work in the morning 7:30 am,I saw this weather, I felt something and I walked
to the lake.
I miss my Yangon University whenever I see this lake in this campus.
I miss Inya Lake which is so famous for many reasons at my Yangon University.

optimistic boy

A 5 year old boy was rescued after being buried under rubbles for 24 hours.
His left hand was broken, but he smiled and saluted to his rescuers.
His smile made everybody cry.

lucky baby

This baby, after being buried over 24 hours, miraculously, was rescued unscratched.
He is about 3-4 months old, and his mother kneeled down, pinned her head and hands
on the ground to shielded him from the falling concrete, and milked him.

His mother did not make it out. A rescue worker found his mom’s cell phone in his wrapper.
It had a text message left by his mother: “Dear child, if you survive, please remember,
Mom loves you forever…”

white LED candles

White LED candles created by my younger brother.
On 2 May 2008 tropical cyclone Nargis hit the coast of Myanmar and devastated large parts of the low-lying delta region of the Irrawaddy River. Winds exceeded 190 kilometres per hour as the storm ripped through the Myanmar’s biggest city Yangon (estimated population 6 million) for over than ten hours. Homes were flattened, more sturdy structures damaged, trees uprooted and power lines downed. In rural parts of the country up to 95 per cent of all homes were destroyed.
We , Myanmar people are collecting donations for the cyclone victims.
International Aid are trying to support cyclone victims.
I collect donations from my colleagues, my students and my friends.
I sent donations to my younger brother who is in Yangon.
He bought rice, sardines , drinking water bottles and he went to Kwan Chan Kone and Dala.
He distributed the food to the cyclone victims.
Nargis cyclone also hit Myanmar's largest city of Yangon on 2nd May , and cutting off electricity.
So Yangon is City in the Dark now. Even Yangon City is in the dark, how could the other small towns be in the light?
My brother created LED candles and he donated to the monasteries and to cyclone victims.
The candles can be lighted by using 3 small batteries.

Tropical Cyclone Alert

TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION ALERT
WTIO21 PGTW 132030
MSGID/GENADMIN/NAVPACMETOCCEN PEARL HARBOR HI/JTWC//
SUBJ/TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION ALERT//
RMKS/
1. FORMATION OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE IS POSSIBLE WITHIN
150 NM EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 16.5N 96.1E TO 19.4N 92.1E
WITHIN THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS. AVAILABLE DATA DOES NOT JUSTIFY
ISSUANCE OF NUMBERED TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNINGS AT THIS TIME.
WINDS IN THE AREA ARE ESTIMATED TO BE 25 TO 30 KNOTS. METSAT IM-
AGERY AT 131800Z INDICATES THAT A CIRCULATION CENTER IS LOCATED
NEAR 16.7N 95.7E. THE SYSTEM IS MOVING WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 06
KNOTS.
2. REMARKS:
RECENT ANIMATED INFRARED SATELLITE IMAGERY AND A 121210Z SSMI
MICROWAVE IMAGE INDICATE PRONOUNCED LOW-LEVEL CYCLONIC TURNING
OF CONVECTION AT THE WESTERN END OF THE MONSOON TROUGH. HOWEVER,
MORE RECENTLY, CONVECTION HAS WANED SOMEWHAT IN RESPONSE TO LAND
INTERACTION. THE CIRCULATION CENTER IS CURRENTLY TRANSITING
GENERALLY NORTHWESTWARD ACROSS THE YANGON DELTA REGION OF MYANMAR.
OBSERVATIONS FROM YANGON AS OF 131300Z, SUPPORT A 25 TO 30 KNOT
CIRCULATION WITH SEA LEVEL PRESSURES NEAR 1000 MB (3 MB PRESSURE
FALLS OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS) AND SUSTAINED WINDS AT 10 KNOTS
GUSTING TO 20 KNOTS OUT OF THE NORTHEAST. A PARTIAL 130301Z ASCAT
IMAGE ALSO INDICATES STRONG WESTERLIES TO THE SOUTH OF THE
CENTER WITH SUSTAINED EASTERLIES TO THE NORTH, FURTHER PROOF OF
CYCLONIC TURNING. THE CENTER CURRENTLY LIES UNDER LOW VERTICAL
WIND SHEAR JUST SOUTH OF THE SUBTROPICAL RIDGE AXIS WITH FAVOR-
ABLE SOUTHWESTERLY DIFFLUENCE ALOFT. THOUGH THE DISTURBANCE IS
CURRENTLY OVER LAND, MINIMAL DEGRADATION OF THE LOW LEVEL IS
EXPECTED DUE TO THE LOW LYING TOPOGRAPHY AND FAIRLY QUICK TRANSIT
OVER THE LOW-LYING COASTAL REGION OF SOUTHERN MYANMAR. EMERGENCE
INTO THE BAY OF BENGAL IS EXPECTED WITHIN THE NEXT 12 TO 18 HOURS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 25 TO 30 KNOTS.
MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1000 MB. THE
POTENTIAL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE
WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS IS GOOD WITH THE ONLY LIMITATION BEING
TEMPORARY LAND INTERACTION.
3. THIS ALERT WILL BE REISSUED, UPGRADED TO WARNING OR CANCELLED
BY 142030Z.//
